Hello

so when you say missing from articles , you mean when viewing the articles them in frontend ? (you do not mean item form)

yes, the code changed
if the metadesc is empty then no meta description will be added

Previous code (when metadesc is empty) it added the 160 first characters of the item's description
Should we restore previous behaviour ?

Hello

It would impact SEO only if you do not display the description text, otherwise it should not make a difference ???
but we can restore the old behaviour in v4.0.1 (aka set description text as metadesc when metadesc is empty)

i was checking default code for Joomla article manager and they do not auto-use description text as "metadesc" when metadesc is empty. Just mentioning this

Correct, we lost around 250 keywords since the update 5 days ago.

Is there any line of code I can add to any PHP file that can bring this back until the update is released. can not afford to lose more traffic. thanks!
