In which order should I update Joomla and Flexicontent?

Hello,

I am under Joomla! 3.7.1 and wish to update it to 3.8.2
In fact, I already tried to do so, but got only a really big trouble : no more access to back-end, no more front-end...

But, as I also have to update Flexicontent (from 3.1.1 to 3.2.1.7), I wonder if maybe I should have updated Flexicontent BEFORE updating Joomla! ??

Usually, I do my updates in this order :
1: all extensions except Flexicontent (and regular Labs)
2: template framework and template (if needed)
3: Joomla!
4: Flexicontent
5: Regular Labs extensions

Sunday, I tried to go from j.3.7.1 to 3.8.2 and lost everything after the 3rd step.
I had to restore my backup to get back my access to back-end and make the front-end accessible again to users.
I wish to try again, but before I want to ask you : should I update FC in step 3, and then Joomla! in step 4 ?

Thank you very much for your advise, which are always very precious to me.

Hello

what you experienced is propably not related to FLEXIcontent
and FLEXIcontent v3.2.1.7 should be good to run in J3.5 / J3.6

(except for changing language associatons in form that may need J3.7)

just update FLEXIcontent first and then update Joomla !

Like the our support? (for a bug-free FC, despite having a long list of functions) Like the features? Like the ongoing development and future commitment to FLEXIcontent?
-- Add your voice to the FLEXIcontent JED listing with a 5-star...

did you use sp pagebuilder ?
think to edit configuration.php and change reporting to maximum
you can see error in admin page

FLEXIcontent is Free but involves a very big effort on our part.

I don't even know what is sp pagebuilder, so I'm pretty sure it is not the source of my troubles.
But thanks for asking.
I think I'm gonna wait for people stop complaining about J3.8 updates to make my own update, and keep on running the 3.7.1.
I'm not good enough to face this kind of technical problems I had last time.

Tank you!
