Hi

Im on joomla 3.3.3 and have current release of flexicontent.

My client now wants to move to multi language, but I cant get the language options to show in the edit screen.

I have installed falang but that just gave me another component.
I enabled language plugins. Added languages to joomla and to flexi for french but i just get all and english.

Categories and Menu Items let me choose a language.

Please help I cant see any how too on your site.

thanks

tristan

Hi,
I would not use Falang. I believe that there is nor reason to use an additional component anymore. Joomla 3.3 together with Flexicontent is much better and less troublesome!

Hi Rooney

I am happy not to use that, but is there a guide as to how to enable more languages in flexicontent to see the other flags?

Or maybe their is a setting I missed?

thanks

Well, you have to install the language packs and follow the normal Joomla procedure to setup a multilingual page (like menus for each language etc.)

Hello

NOTE:

the installed language packs are irrelevant to the content languages

NOTE:
you do it the same way that you do for any other multi-language component, as the Joomla multilanguage docs describe or also check this link:
www.templatemonster.com/help/joo ... -site.html

-- you
1. go to Joomla language manager
2. click to create the content languages that you need
a. Click on "Content"
b. and then click NEW, then add your content language with appropriate language codes !!)

e.g for French short code and image code is "fr"
and language code is "fr-FR"

e.g for German short code and image code is "de"
and language code is "de-DE"

NOTE: you do not need to install language packs for the content languages, the language packs effect the backend interface of menus, help, etc ... the content languages are the languages of your content,

please see Joomla documentation about "content languages"

-- Flexicontent is Free but involves a big effort on our part.
Like the our support? (for a bug-free FC, despite having a long list of functions) Like the features? Like the ongoing development and future commitment to FLEXIcontent?
-- Add your voice to the FLEXIcontent JED listing with a 5-star...

Hi

Found out what I was missing.

To make the language show up you must make.
A new menu
Add a page give it a language
Have a matching item in another menu with another language.

As you can only have one language homepage per language, but you can have multi languages in a menu they just dont work the same way.

Strange that this sort of option should be because of a menu not because of a setting. Joomla issue not flexicontent I guess

thanks
