Maybe the problem was solved because you added the su_php and not because of using the post_max_size since 8M should have been more than enough (unless some plugin was adding something to the form ??)

I tot the command in .htaccess is to ask .htaccess to executing PHP scripts in php.ini? ahah i knw nothing on php.. just try some luck

i dont think there is other plugin as the first app i install is flexicontent after i setup jommla 2.5

If this variable is low then the POSTED data will be truncated, also make sure this one is 5000 or more

You can see if this is the reason by checking the APACHE server log, just after clicking save in global configuration
