Yes, it's almost that.

It was perfect if it was possible to add a button to add a new article if it wasn't listed.

For example, I want to use it in the speakers. So if a certain speaker wasn't already inserted I could add him clicking in "Add item". When clicking "Add item" it could open a window with the form to add that item.

Hello

it is possible to implement

add a button to open new article form in a modal ,
and auto-close modal when doing save+close or cancel and auto-add the new item (or easier auto-update the 'selectable' items list)

but this would be rarely used,

i said it is possible to implement into the field
meaning it does not exist

and then also commented it would be rarely useful (to rather small number of web-sites)

Ok, I got it.

But I don't know how can you say it would be rarely useful! Is that statistically proved, or a wishful thinking?!

Anyway this is already an excellent component, my congratulations to the developer team.
