Hi,

Here is a guide I recently wrote for a client to show them how to update and translate items in FLEXIcontent.

www.iamrobert.com/flexicontent/Add-a-New-Item.pdf - sorry can't upload .pdfs to forum.

I am using the default Joomla multilingual settings. My admin template - I have also customized a little bit.

Let me know if its helpful.

Robert

interesting ! thanks for sharing !

FLEXIcontent is Free but involves a very big effort on our part.
Like the our support? (for a bug-free FC, despite being huge extension) Like the features? Like the ongoing development and future commitment to FLEXIcontent?

Hi,
Why are you copying the article and do not use translate? If you use translated the articles are associated together as a translation group automatically which is especially helpful using languages like Chinese or Japanese!

Hi Rooney,

My setup is as follows:
1. About (English) Category
2. 關於我們 (Chinese) category

Because when I use the translate button to copy an article - the item still remains in the same category (about). I need it moved to the Chinese Category (關於我們).

See example when using translate:

Here are my settings:
[attachment=2:35n9e8io]<!-- ia2 -->2.png<!-- ia2 -->[/attachment:35n9e8io]

I think you are also right, as I also missed a step which is I need to link the articles - which is a step I missed in my instructions.
