what is a Canonical URL?

Lots of discussion about canonicalization and canonical URLs lately. I’ve discussed URLs and URL structure a few times in the past. We thought that we would help illustrate the idea of canonical URLs. From an SEO point of view here is the definition of a canonical URL:

Canonical URL: the search engine friendly URL that you want the search engines to treat as authoritative. In other words, a canonical URL is the URL that you want visitors to see.

i read on SVN that canonical is already integrated in flexi. so its 1-2 week till it will be official in public release (please correct me if i made wrong conclusion).

i think TS mast compare this options to his extension and make clear observation why its paid solution is better.

lungkao, i saw my flexi content. which i thought looked awesome. does it respect front end submission templates or use the default flexi one. looks like a awesome component. i will be buying soon to test.

Flexi also needs a front end file manager! Would love to see this as well.
