URL fields limited in size?

I needed a field which consists of an URL (Weblink) and implemented that using a normal Text-Field and adding the URL validation (Value Validation Mask). It works well this way but it seems to be limited in size to the displayed width of the form. In contrast to a normal Text-Field where I can enter more characters and the field scrolls to the right I can not enter more characters after I reached the end of the field. This is by the way also true when I switch the field type to "Weblink".

For me it seems this is by some event handlers in the validation. How can I extent this limit?

Also: is it possible to render the field's content as a link and not only as a text?

maxlength attribute attibute seems to be ignore when we enable input masking "url"
i ll update inputmask JS to see of it makes a difference

Could you figure out a solution for this? Is there something I could try out to make it work?

For those who are interested: this is due to a bug in the used version of the inputmask.js ... if you change the cardinality: 50 -> 2048 in the inputmask.min.js the problem seems to be solved

Tested and this issue seems to have been fixed
so when you update to v3.2.1.15 (if this is ever release) or v3.3.0 you will have the fix included
