Problems with image field deleting images

Hi,
I have the following problem which is been introduced within the last year or so, because I have not changed any setting for the field: I am using an image field in an article. I duplicate this article keeping the existing category assignments. After that I am editing the article and change the image. After that the image is also lost in the original article. Furthermore, the image (db mode) is completely deleted.
Any ideas?

No. The related article is also set to "Language All"

that was added a little before the time that you say that issue appeared

is failing and need to be fixed

i have opened an issue for this in github
should be small fix, will include it in v3.2.1.13
