Frontend users confronted with "You are not authorized to create content in any category"

My frontend users have in the past been able to create certain content type items, (as far as I can see, this was even after installing FC 3.1.1), but are now confronted with the message:"You are not authorized to create content in any category".

Can you give any advice as to where to search for solution, as we did not seem to have changed category, content type, ACL right settings or group assignments ?

Regards Folbert

Hello

it seems that
either
- user belongs to at least 1 usergroup,
that the particular usergroup is explicit denied creation all categories
or
- all usergroups of the user were not given creation in any category

if you are sure that the above is not the case you can send me a PM with super admin login and frontend user login

Hi, thanks for the reply.
I understand your two options. The specific users are member of different groups, some have the right permissions for creation, others are not supposed to have these. Before I have you look at the situation, I'd like to dive into it myself, but my problem is that I did not change specific rights. Can it be that since v 3 or 3.1 the explicit denial of creation has been introduced, so I have to rethink my permissions on all levels?
I have several groups and each have specific additional rights over groups over a lower level. Should I now give more permissions on the lower levels, and deny per every itemtype or category I introduced?

My user still complains, I gave some explicit creation rights to a user group on de component level, and have been able to create new content of the same type via the frontend, so thought it was solved but apparently not.
I tested the new version, but on beforehand I could not reproduce the problem on that testenvironment, which has grown apart from the live website a bit. I did notice a better visual experience in recognizing the specific permissions, which I used to change my live site as I wrote in the first sentence. Do you think the github version is suitable for live site?
I did notice that the specific user could not be edited from the backend. I think I have to figure that out first.
Perhaps I should figure out how to send you a PM, to have a look.
