Could it be that I upgraded form FC 2.2.0 Stable to 3.0.8 directly?

It's very strange.
I did a fresh install of Joomla and flexicontent. I checked to be sure i had the same extension installed. And actually removed as much unnecessary ones.
I then brought the DB from the original site to the one thinking that it may have been an actually issue with some php files . But the error is still there.
Fatal error: Call to a member function asXML() on a non-object in /components/com_flexicontent/classes/flexicontent.helper.php on line 4391

Which makes me think that it's actually not related to a php file.

My problem is that I did a newbie mistake by upgrading with out a latest backup. Since I've upgraded a few site before without any problem, I just went a head. Damn rookie mistake !!!

Hello

-- this message means that the XML parsing of (or the templates folder is unreadable ?)
an XML file (item.xml or category.xml) of some template is bad / broken
-- we will add handling for this

what to do now:

1. rename folder:
components/com_flexicontent/templates
to
components/com_flexicontent/templates_bak

2. Clean Joomla cache and create folder:
components/com_flexicontent/templates

3. copy built-in templates into the folder, and test that things work
start copying 1 by 1 the templates from templates_bak into templates

then refreshing a frontend view or the backend templates manager view

this way you should find the template with the bad XML file

thanks a lot ggppdk ! That was exactly the problem. Not sure why it happened. But there was indeed a template I duplicated that created the issue.

God! something that simple can make you loose time! At least It was a good reminder that backing-up before upgrading is a must !

Thanks a lot as always.

Cheers

ps: i like the new template showing on some section of the site. It's light, clean and clear and load a bit faster on my side.

Hello,

Will this work on V2.2.1 RC1? This is so annoying and teaches me not to update on production version.
