Hello,

in Joomla smart search, I can exclude some articles from search results.
Fresh user of Flexicontent, I find no way to exclude such or such items from Flexicontent search indexes.

1/ Is there a way to exclude items from search indexes ? I did not found it in documentation ou this forum.

2/ If no way and all items must be found in FC results, I would prefer not use Flexi search and go back to Joomla smart search. Is it safe to do that ? Can I use Flexicontent items + joomla search, even if I cannot search custom fields ?

Thank you for help !

Hello

no you can not exclude items from search index

- you can in search view (menu item) allow only specific content types
e.g. allow:
type A
type C
type D

and not include type B

Thank you for you immediate answer!

The content type exclusion to not fit to my needs, then I prefer to go back to Joomla smart search.

Can you tell me if it is safe to do it ?
I should disable FC search plugins and FC search modules and enable Joomla search plugins and modules.

Have a nice day, Hugues

Hello

yes you can use Joomla Smart search index,

generally
you don't need to disable an FLEXIcontent search plugins because they are used in different view

Just in Finder plugins make sure you only enable FLEXIcontent finder plugin or Joomla finder plugin for articles, do not enable both !

Hello

FLEXIContent finder plugin currently adds same data as Joomla plugin,

but in next version(s) it will also add FLEXIcontent text fields, etc
