Add item on secondary category but not on primary

Hi!

Would like to know

Is there a way to assign a category as "secondary category" but forbids to assign it as "primary"?

In my case, I have something like

Cat A
Cat B
Cat common 1
Cat common 2

User A can add and edit on cat A (not B)
User B can add and edit on cat B (not A)

Now, if I create a item with Cat A as primary, B can´t access because I have properly configured the ACL. I add Cat common 1 because later I would show all "Cat common 1" items

In short, I want to keep on primary only the categories that I have ACL control of, and keep the secondary ones to list on frontend

Do I explain myself? Can this be configurable?

Hello

primary category has a very --tight-- relation with items,

this will never be supported

i don't see how this could be implemented without causing dozens of problems and incompatibilities

mmm How about a "Can be assigned as secondary category" permission, that controls if appears on the secondary select without appearing on the primary one?

Hello

this could be possible to be implemented:

the subtrees of the selected categories (=selected via a parameter), will not be shown in the selector of primary category
