return after login was created by gauthier
Hi,

My website is most entirely password protected and we use community builder to manage our users and login.

When someone tries to access a protected page, he's automatically redirected to the login page, then after login is redirected to the page he tried to access. It works for most of the pages but not for some other pages. Probably some of my flexicontent templates are breaking the return URL stored in the Joomla user state. For some links the return url is encrypted and duplicated

Have you got any idea what I should look for in order to fix it?

there seem to be a conflict between the two redirect process (community builder and flexicontent). Maybe because they both use $return variable but this is a bit too complicated for me...

Hello

-- there should be no conflict, when FLEXIcontent redirects to login page, (configure this in FLEXIcontent component parameters)

flexicontent creates return URL variable , which is then used by the Joomla component com_users to redirect back to flexicontent,

-- if FLEXIcontent does not redirect to login, but instead it throws a no-access 403 forbidden error, then you have some community builder system plugin that redirects to login ??

NOTE: latest v2.2.0 we also fix a Joomla bug with unicode characters in return URL (e.g. you have enabled unicode aliases for SEF urls) (this is not a flexicontent bug)

Yes there is a community builder plugin that redirects from unauthorized to community builder's login module/page, instead of joomla login module/page. And I think this plugin also stores the return url for after login. It works with joomla templates but not with flexicontent templates.

When i try to reach a flexicontent template, I am redirected to the CB login module, this is good, but then after login, the return url looks like this :

mysite.com/index.php/&return=aHR ... hpcy1zaXRl

And if you check you will see what is after "return=" contains again mysite.com/index.php/blablabla

Is it possible that both CB plugin and flexicontent write to the same $return variable ?

I am not a huge expert in webdev, and joomla + flexicontent uses so many files that I don't know how to troubleshoot this. If I disable the CB plugin, it is even worst.

Hello

does the CB lets you access the Joomla login screen ?

or does it redirect you to its own login screen ?

Hello,

The plugin "CB core redirect" automatically redirects to CB login page,
and it shouldn't be possible to reach joomla login page, because I have no menu for it.

But if I had one I might be able to access joomla login page. I can give a try but the goal of CB is to replace joomla login and registration, so it doesn't make sense to keep the joomla login page.

I already thank you for your answers, hopefully it is just a question of settings...
