hello!
subfolder? yes but ALL files in 1 folder(tmp/folder)
-id always problem after 1-4 item, like described...
-wasn`t there a update-item-functionality if ids already used, in old flexicontent-import?

what works best for import:
1.)no id!
2.) for image fields DB-re-usable mode, use file-manager flexicontent for preupload
3.)for image field Folder-mode, copy all files in tmp/
when import, set filecheck for 2.)DB-re-usable "NO".

Hello

in this case you will have to check apache server log to see what when wrong

the internal server errors are errors registered inside the web server log, please ask your administrator on how to read, if you have CPANEL access , then you should be able to can read it from there
