I purchased an extension that places a PayPal cart button on an article page but since installing Flexicontent the extension does not appear on the edit page for articles.
How can I get the once available extension to appear again?

Hello

this extension is what ?

a content plugin ?

if so,
- please goto FLEXIcontent backend tabs "Fields"

- edit description field,
1. make sure that plugin Triggering is enabled,
2. make sure you select NONE plugins in the plugin list
3. click save (must save even if above appear ok)

If it is a module then make sure your module appears in FLEXIcontent pages,

I can not find Plugin triggering to enable and it is not in the field list. Where would I add this to the field list?

Also, there is a warning message that tells me to recalculate the basic search index because 8 fields are dirty.
What does this require...recalculating?

Yes, it is not in field list, because it is not a field, it is a parameter

please first do this

(please reread my above answer)

about recalculating search index, you can do that in the "search indexes" tab

This PayPal plugin will not appear on the Item Type:Article tab though I have change what you suggested (the search problem has been corrected).
