Hi at all!

Im using latest flexi component and latest joomla 2.5

I have items which are in a main-category and one sub-category. Every item has its own menu-link, but the menu link is only working if i click the item in main-category-view but not if i click the same item in the sub-category-view.

Can i change it, that only the menu links will be used?

Thanks in advance!

Hello

category menu items that have "category parameter override" enabled will be selectable only via direct click

this is stated in the description

is this the case , do you have "category parameter override" enabled in your menu items?

"Category parameter override" is set to no.

Im wondering why it is working for "root"category but not for subcategory.

Only to make clear you got me right:

I have 3 menu links:
root category, subcategory, article-item
these are working correctly.

If i click the article in the root category view, menu link takes place

BUT:
if i click the same item in the sub category view, a link like: localhost/menuitemlink/ID-subcategory/ID-article appears, but it should use menu link also!

thanks in advance

Hello

there are other reasons why a menu item will not be auto-selected e.g. it is not public and current user is not logged,
e.g. it is of wrong language
etc

anyway once you have the site online,

then give me a specific example to view
- url of category when using menu item
- url of category when not using menu item
- also menu item id (and in which menu it is inside)
- the category id
- and also backend access

these in a PM

Regards

Hello

i have looked at it and this normal behaviour

-- because an item belongs to multiple categories, the category id (or cat alias in your case) is appended to the URL so that the configuration of the category can be merged into the item configuration
(but if category id matches the one inside the menu item then it is not added)

so you get:
h t t p : //.../menu_item_pointing_to_item/cat-alias-CID/item-alias-ID

maybe it would be nicer to use this:
h t t p : //.../menu_item_pointing_to_item.html?cid=CID

and of course when category matches the one inside the menu item we would get
h t t p : //.../menu_item_pointing_to_item.html

I think the above maybe a better solution than the existing solution because it will display more intuitive and nicer URLS
