Search - FLEXIcontent Advanced / Standard Search

I disabled all the Joomla Search Plugins but still have both FC search plugins enabled. There are six problems:

1. the Standard Search plugin takes the "revised" date as creation date

2. the search returns duplicate results

3. the module returns different results than the search form: I have an article called "El Cotillo". The search module returns this article when using "coti" as search term (duplicate results though). The form on top of the result list does return nothing with "coti" - when only the FC standard search plugin is enabled

4. it is confusing that the standard plugin has more (back end) options than the advanced plugin

5. when I tick the check box "Advanced Options" in the form above the search results nothing happens - what is this check box for?

6. I need the minimum characters to be 3 instead of 4

cheers

Hello

about duplicate results , there must be 2 content search plugins enabled

are you using Joomla search view ?

Did you try creating a FLEXIcontent search menu item?

I dont use Joomla search view - I think:

I disabled all the Joomla Search Plugins but still have both FC search plugins enabled.

No, I dont want a search menu item. I want a search module. That is why I use the "Advanced Search Module for FLEXIcontent" in a sidebar.

1.
Please use FLEXIcontent search view
(it is very much improved and has some bug-fixes in r1736+)

-- (you can leave both FLEXIContent search plugin enabled but only advanced search plugin will be used)
-- The options you were talking about ARE NOT in the advanced search plugin, they are in the FLEXIcontent search menu item and they are plenty

2. if you use the Joomla Search view, then you must disable advanced search plugin and only use standard search plugin
otherwise you will get duplicate results

3. The advanced search module targets the FLEXIcontent search view, and not standard view, that is why you get different results (FLEXIcontent search view has different configuration)

4. After creating the MENU item for FLEXIcontent advanced search view, then goto component settings and set's the menu item id FOR Search view default configuration (configuration TAB "CONTENT DISPLAY") so that the search module will target this menu item

"4. After creating the MENU item for FLEXIcontent advanced" ... I did that. And I found the options - which are causing some confusion but I will open another thread for that.

I am really confused. I dont think I use the Joomla search view since I have neither the Joomla search module nor the com_search in use. As I wrote already I use "Advanced Search Module for FLEXIcontent". When I punch in a word in there, e.g. "cot" I get my article about "El Cotillo" displayed in a list of search results with a form on top of the list. The URL says ...com_flexicontent... so I guess I use the FC search. BUT when I now put in the same word "cot" in the form I get no result. So I conclude the "Advanced Search Module for FLEXIcontent" module and the search form use different search engines, which is utterly confusing not only for me as a programmer but for the end user even more. I disabled the "Search - FLEXIcontent Standard Search" plugin so there cannot be a mixing in search results. Im lost ...

Hello,
then you need to create a FLEXIcontent search view menu item, so and then goto module configuration and set the Item of this FLEXIcontent search view menu item

this way you can configure your search
