Hi,
I have search in the forum and i didn't found, so i'm posting (again) today.

I use Admin Tools to secure a website using Flexicontent.
In Admin Tools, i have to protect the administrator folder (using an htaccess and htpassword for this).
The problem is the following : on the frontend, it appers that some elements are called in the administrator folder as when i click on an item to see it, i have the box "password protected"...

Is there any solution for this ? I have to protect my website from constant attacks and password protecting the administrator folder is a good way, but i can't have a fully fonctional pages with this...
Thanks for the help or direction,
Regards,

Hello

you can password protect the administrator folder using the file .htaccess .htpasswd (you could use Admin Tools to create them as you mentioned)

-- and then add an exclusion for the FLEXIcontent backend assets folder, which contains: images,CSS and JS files (no PHP code)

See our (new) FAQ article:
Password protecting your Joomla administrator folder

Great !
It's working well :) (dont have any doubt on this point !)

Just a question : why keep some elements for the frontend in the admin folder ?

Hello

Chabi01 wrote: Just a question : why keep some elements for the frontend in the admin folder ?

originally some things like state toggler and even item form were implemented only for backend,
and then we added these to the frontend too

So that is why we have references to the backend folder.
So there are 2 solutions,
- either duplicate all frontend/backend common files
- or to move all frontend/backend common code to a frontend folder

thanks again...but (i know, i'm boring ;)
- what are the folder(s) to duplicate ?
- is there some modifications to do in the file to tell to FC to use the folder on frontend ?

The annoying man...

Hello,

i meant that this is an alternative for developers of FLEXIcontent, and involves updating code at several places,
