Afraid of that I can't decide to use which web host provider, but I will feedback this thread to whom could make the decision.

I have same problem and have gone through all steps that you specified. But it still doesn't work.

Yeap, actually it is working with 7 or more letters.

And I just realized that I edited php.ini to add ft_min_word_len=3.
I am looking for my.cnf or mysql.ini file on my server but it seems it doesn't exist.
Or Do I have to use phpMyAdmin?

Unfortunately, the my.cnf file is restricted by hosting company.
