category list - frontend item form

Hi,

I have 3 categories with view subcategories.
In usermenu is 3 link:
- add item in cat1
- add item in cat2
- add item in cat3
And in this form is all good with category list. It's show only subcategories from parent category.

But when I edit same item, then in editform show all 3 categories whit subcategories. I need to show only current categories like in add form.
It's possible? Where is my mistake?

The submit menu item category override is just a convenience !!

The normal way to do it is to give specific user groups "Create" ACL Privilege on desired categories

-- Users can assign items only to categories, for which they have "Create" ACL Privilege

Check out J2.5 (J1.6+) ACL ...
