[soved] required fields not working

I have another problem in V 1.5.6 RC9 (r1522).
In backen in my articles I have a text field that shoud be required but when I now save an article without filling in this field the article is saved anyway.
Testing this a bit further I made an image field for this article required with the same result: No complaining by the server, it saved it anyway.
Going even further I tried to save a completely empty article with a rather interesting result: I got an error message: which is OK but after selecting my categories and saving I get: Of course if I filled in some of my content fields like description and title everything is gone.
It seems the javascript that checks if all the required fields is not working in my installation.
Do only I have this issue?

in r1525-r1528 has many validation improvements
- Validation speed of the item edit form is greatly improved
- De-focus rechecks most fields (not for file field or minigallery field) it is even much faster than Joomla validation, since retrieval of labels are now O(1) instead of O(n^2)
- Limitation for min , max , exact number of values for selectmultiple, checkbox, checkboximage
- Fixed required parameter for image field field
- Fixed marking Labels red for all invalid fields (was not working for some fields)

can I get it from svn?

Yes but wait half hour,
i ll make a commit to fix required field for image field (again) (DB mode)

required field for image field it just too complex, but i think i have included all cases

also folder mode for image field
is somewhat broken for new items,

you have to save item first and then add images, i ll fix this too later today

Hmm.. just donloaded and installed the latest version from svn on my testing server but I still have some flaws here.
The javascript that checks for required fields before saving an article still doesn't seem to work:
When I create a new article and don't fill in my reqired text field it saves the article anywa.
When I forget to select my categories it's even worse: It tries to save the article and not being able to do so due to missing category settings it throws an error (Error during storing the content: Operation failed, Reason: Select categories) and deletes everything that has been entered before including the content of the description. If you have been working on this content for a while, saving without choosing a category can ruin the whole work you spent into writing this content.

Did you make sure that the new JS file validation file was loaded by clicking ctrl-F5 in your browser?
