Joomla Templates Not Working Properly After FC Install

I have been managing an annual event site that has 3 years worth of data. I have a different Joomla Template for each year matching that year's marketing theme. After installing FlexiContent, today, all my pages now display the Default Joomla template and not the Template assigned to specific year/menu items.

Is this a known issue? Is there a setting in FC to fix this?

Thanks,

Jim Grove

Reason 1:

FLEXIcontent redirects com_content
(a) category and
(b) article
views

to FLEXIcontent
(a) category and
(b) item
views

Then these view use FLEXIcontent template for displaying,

to be more specific your Joomla template is applied but the "component area" is styled by FLEXIcontent,

Reason 2:

BUT if your Joomla templates are assigned to com_content menu items then they will not be applied because your menu items are no longer active

to make them active you need to open each of them and manually change their type to be FLEXIcontent e.g. for a com_content category change it to FLEXIcontent category for com_content article change the menu to be FLEXIcontent Content item (and of course select the correct item)

-- We plan to automate this,
-- Test by changing one menu item, then go to frontend click refresh and then click the menu item to see if it works
-- if you have many menu items, i suggest that you wait for next public release in a few days that will have this automated

Since this styling is important to you,
if the above does not work or you have too many menu items, i suggest that you uninstall FLEXIcontent (don't worry only FLEXIcontent extended data fields values etc are deleted/lost) and wait for next public release

Regards
