Special Access field not displaying on FE

1. Created a custom field as "File Type"
2. Placed it in the Default template to show on FE
3. Changed the Access from "Public" to "Special"
4. Entered item and uploaded new field & uploaded file
5. Logged into FE as a super admin

Could not see the field on the category listing.

Can see it on FE if the field access is set to "Registered" or "Public"

Managers, Administrators and Super Administrators need to see this field but NOT public or registered users.

What am I missing?

i guess you have J1.5? this is normal, no user have access level special, so no user can view it,

You will need to subscribe to FLEXIaccess , download it and install it, and then set view permissions through it.

- Loaded FLEXIaccess and
- set the "special" users to a FLEXIaccess group then
- allowed access to it in the field manager.

Poof!

It worked.
