I do not understand what is causing this error when I try to upload an image in an image field. I assume it may be a server issue, but I need some help with where to start looking.
The base file is getting uploaded to the proper directory just fine as it is suppose to, but the thumbs fail to get created.

This means that something went wrong with upload,
bad filename? or permissions?

Problem is that the upload script does not have permissions to create the uploaded file,
please try disabling FTP mode

I disabled FTP in Joomla's global config, I tried changing the thumbnail directory and changing its permissions to 777, and still getting the same error.
Is there something else on the server may not be properly configured that I haven't thought of?
Would you think that how I'm accessing the site via a temporary domain has anything to do with it?
I've tested this on a local server using MAMP and never have a problem.
