Custom <title></title> don't work

If I try to use custom <title></title> in single item page, this tag remains empty.

I set in "parameters:standard" :
Override <title> => YES
Custom <title> => my custom title

I need to add/modify other parameters?

[I use Joomla 1.7 and flexicontent 2.0 - RC4 r1216]

I'm very sorry.. I write a wrong thing.

The title <title></title> in single item page appears correctly.

The problem is in single category page.

Description and keywords are correct but <title></title> do not work.
It was always empty.

In "Parameters : Metadata" (in Flexycontent single category settings), I try to write the "alternative page title" and this metatag was added:
<meta content="****" name="title">
but <title></title> is always empty...

In Joomla menu I didn't set anything.

Yes the alternative metadata title is only used for META tag for title, and not as page title.

Also i suggest you upgrade to latest version due to other issues that have been fixed:

code.google.com/p/flexicontent/downloads/list

And why <title></title> is empty? Is it normal? Can I put something inside this tag?
