Search and Alphaindex have not result, nothing happens..

About the alpha-index, it works properly with the new templates, including case that the caching is on.

About, the --combination-- of search box and alpha-index.
This must be done by changing the database query, there is no point in trying with different templates.

The db query is inside the database model of category view, it must be fixed there , not in the template.

So just to make it clear you are taking about combining search box and alpha-index right?

for a better declaration, you can see and test that at my site :

( its a person register)

All Person displayed,
now you search e.g. : Zimmermann
-> no result, the list show all entrys
change the alphaindex to every letter, simple ' k' :
-> Zimmermann found
but now you don't can reset the searchterm
chanche another the alphaindex to ervery letter
-> now you can reset the searchterm

This behavior is not new, it is in all v1.5.x and v2.x.

We have a high priority issue open and and will fix in v1.5.6 final.
