[solved]Error 500 sorting Articles by article order pls help

Ok, you found the issue
the category itself contains no articles. It's an online magazine with several subcategories which contain articles.
I use the category that contains all these subcategories as the startpage and have it set to display the articles from all subcategories.

Yes but the code must be changed (or fixed whatever you call it), to display a better message!

Also there are a few similar places where the error message must be changed, or even better produce a warning and do not produce error, in our case a warning must be produced instead of an error.

I registered this as as bug to change behavior and produce the warning.

But does this mean that it will not be possible to change the order of articles in the view of categories that solely display articles of their subcategories?

You cannot order subcategory items, ONLY items of the current category.

I have opened an issue and will put code to warn and / or prevent user from trying to order subcategory items
