Original error was "You don't have permission to access..."
1) after a hack I had installed a more restrictive .htaccess, forbidding rogue .php files. I removed some of these rules.
Next error was "Internal Server Error"
2) From error logs I see soft exception, components/flexicontent/library and files below had group write permission. Not allowed with suPHP. Changed permissions and all is good.
FLEXIcontent post-installation task (checked once every time that you login in backend)
- in FLEXIcontent versions v2.1.x, FLEXIcontent will check the phpThumb cache folder and will set permissions 744, and adds a .htaccess that denies listing the folder and deny executing scripts
