display an article with another template than the defined one in the article

Is it possible to display an article with another template than the defined one in the article.?

in flexicontent you can define template like this :
- global configuration
- type
- article
- link menu
you can find same option in each configuration just think its an heritage. Last option check override all other

I know all of that but My question was : in a specific cas can we use another template different that the one registred for the article ?

My problem :
Displaying books.
In the article disoplay the book I have 2 buttons :
- get the flipping book of the book (CALAMEO open in a Pop-Up),
- print the book : download the PDF of the book.

Specific case :
When I display the flipping book in Calameo pop-up, I have a button which allows to download the PDF.
to do that I open the article containing the button and I need to click a second time on 'Download PDF'.
I want to go directly in the Pop-up which allow the download PDF
on the general case I have a button which opens a CALAMEO pop-up to see the flipping book correspondant.

In the CALAMEO Pop-up I have a button which allows to download th file :
the pop up is closed and I come back to the original article. I need to click a second time to get the PDF Pop-up.

What I want to do is to open automatically the PDF Pop-up.

sorry i don't realy understand why you need 2 template for this, it not clear for my mind lol
did you have a real exemple ?
