Prev-Next-Item-Links on Detail-pages?

Hi there,

is there some way to determine the id of the next/prev/sibling item (or the next/prev/sibling menu-item) using php in my (frontend-)item-view?
I need to create something like e.g. this:
www.toujou.de/service/elementbibliothek/...ext-page-navigation/
(not talking about pagination for category-views)

thanks, but I'm not looking for a carousel or slideshow.
I need to create a link to the next/previous content-item, in a category, from a detail-page,
in a way that looks like a slideshow, but normally "href's" to new pages.

I figure, I need to do this in php:

• Define which of my item's categories I want to navigate through, main category or one of the secondary cats?
  • (no prob here, I can get all cat info from php-item-object)
• Let's say, I need to step through all content-items that share my item's main category.
• The two questions would be:
  • What is the SQL to get all item-ids for a given item-id that share a category-id?
  • What is the SQL to get all item-ids for a given item-id that share a secondary category-id?
• The rest (building the route, and the link, etc. poses no problem).

Bottom line: "A detail page that has a sort of pagination; like a category page, but with only one item per page."

Question why didn set to display 1 peer page (in category) and modify pagination ?

Because the website has the typical structure of a category-page with teasers/thumbnail-links to detail-pages.
I now need to navigate "horizontally" from there.
Alternatively I'd have to weirdly change the links on the category-page, losing the detail-pages' url structure as well.

Maybe check an JS script for an horizontal scrolling ?
