Default layout for item type

Here are 3 screenshots.
- Content type config
- Item with default template setting (not working)
- item with manually set template (working fine)
 

can you do this test use a defaut theme like item-tabbed
and set your item by defaut
and said me if it works ?

in the category setting there is an option to
- force a specific item layout instead of the item-type layout

can you check if this has been set ?
it should be empty
otherwise the category setting for item layout will override the item-type layout

if you check the above and it is not set , then i would like to see this and you can send me super admin access to the website via a PM

Check the category setting
and then check this setting for parent categories too

That was it! Thank you very much.
For some funny reason that setting was set to "Default" and not "Type Default". Very confusing.
Just don't know how it happened, but I will remember this for sure....
