"fieldgroup"-field > layout as JSON?

Hi there,

how can I layout my "fieldgroup"-field so that in my php-template I can more freely work with the fieldgroup's sub-fields' outputs?

I am aware that I can output custom HTML. But the drawback here is that my php then gets rendered output, has to re-parse that, manipulate that, and then re-render that.
Instead, I would like my php to recieve a JSON/array/object/..., and then directly render the output.

Second reason for my wish is, that then, a designer could more consistently work only in his sub-templates-files, and does not have to remember, that in the special case of fieldgroup-fields, he has to log into the website-backend...

Thanks for any thoughts on this!
Ben :)

Answer from myself:

Nevermind, I just understood that I can read the group "subfields" themselves, instead of wrangling with the "concatenated" group field.
I do this by reading e.g.
print_r($this->item->fields->value);
which gives me an array with e.g. 4 elements if my publisher-user did that.

No I can work with that php-structure as wished above. Thanks for this possibility :)
