How to avoid URL redirections?

Hello,

Each time I create a new article in my website, I have to add a redirection in my .htaccess file, so that the "full URL" (the one with the article ID) is automatically converted into a "convenient URL" (with no ID inside) which is the menu URL.

Example with my last article:
RewriteRule ^194\-other\-lives\-for\-their\-love /other-lives-for-their-love [L,R=301]

And its English translated article:
RewriteRule ^en/195\-other\-lives\-for\-their\-love /en/other-lives-for-their-love [L,R=301]

Since I've got now more than 50 articles, I'd like to avoid all these redirections if possible.
Do you think of a way to do that?

If not, another option I was thinking about was using an appropriate regular expression to somehow "skip the ID". (But I'm not very strong at regular expressions.)

Good night.

1 you can use joomla language plugin to remove language in url
2 if you can't i recommand to use an sh404sef
after for htacess rules its not realy a flexicontent question

FLEXIcontent is Free but involves a very big effort on our part.

Hello

this is already implemented

you can go to component options and in SEO / SEF options enable to remove IDs

This will create your category / items / etc URL with only aliases

Hello

After some bug-fixing this is now considered mature feature

Lately we found a issue with return URL (return after you close form) in frontend item form

In frontend item form if you change category of the item and you click save the return URL
contains the alias of the old category ....

thus you will get 404 - non found error. Of course the item form will save properly
