menu: filter labels / initial filter values selected to "blank"

I continue to explore the numerous possibilities of FlexiContent having a new look on menu..

Is there a way to put the initial filter to blank meaning to a field where no value has been input?

i am not sure that i understand you

all filter are blank (empty value) by default

I still want to exclude from a menu a couple of items.

Instead of putting a tag "menu" to each items I want to show, I was looking to an other way and try to create the 2 below fields:



setup as below:



and try to update the menu as below



but I have an issue: for some reason, both fields stay blank until I go to the item and save it (I opened an other query about this point)

therefor, I was wondering if there is not a way to select for the menu any value to blank - I will so have to modify on the field to enter only a value if I don't want to show...

if you want to hide some item in some pages
why don't you use select all other values of the filter ?

you mean that there is a way to exclude the selection?

there was initially a tag "discret" and I try to exclude it but Yannick told me that it's not possible (I do so understand that we can't exclude some value but only select them)

in this case, it should so possible to take any value different from the "no"?

that what I'm trying to do by putting a value by default 'cos I don't really want to save anew all the items
