Use of sort by? was created by Mick
Hello,

I'm using the latest version (+hotfix) of Flexicontent. I have a question for you please. I would like to sort by a filter in my KB. I do not find where I can give the way to the users to sort by a specific field. This is not a filter, but a sort by :

As you can see, when a customer does a search using the search bar (left side), he can find result on the right page. I would like to add the possibility to sort by, clicking on the column (created, component/feature, defect reference, fixed in release).

Is there a way to achieve this ?

Thank you!
Michaël

Hello

it exists
and we are calling it "Order"
you can even order by most custom fields too (but you will need to configure your custom cases)

when i say it exists, i mean you can display it in the component area
currently you can not display it in the filter module

go to component parameters ("configuration" button)
or to the top-level category (categories)
and enabled it

For component configuration

Category views TAB
/ Items List TAB
/ Basic display, Ordering TAB

For Category form it is

Display TAB
/ Items List TAB
/ Basic display, Ordering TAB

Hi ggppdk,

Thank you for your answer.

Do you plan to add the possibility for the user to sort by the column he needs ?

Your suggestion works, thank you. But there is something I still not understand. When I display my page, the sort is done. When I choose one filter on my left panel, the result is displayed on the right panel, but the order does not exist.

Is there a way to make this order persistent ? I can share my screen with you if needed, or give you the access.

Thank you!
Michaël

Hello

if you enable the display of the order selector at the right (item listing via category view)
then does the order become persistent ?

Also try to target the same view as you had before the filtering module submitted
e.g. does the category menu item change ? maybe the ordering in the new menu item is different

Hi,

Thank you. The Menu is the same.

At the beginning, it is : mywebsite.com/dd
The order is ok.

I select a filter on the left panel, the url becomes :
mywebsite.com/dd/category/14-xxx?filter_16 []=yyyy&.....

The menu is still dd, but the order by does not exist anymore. I do not understand when I can choose this.

Thanks!
