Automatic Relations with Pro?

Am I understanding the following advertised feature correctly?
  • Automatic relation field : Allow to create an automatic relation between items in regards of field value
What I need is a means of auto-populating relations between Items. For example, I have a Family relation field. If Item:Person 1 has a relation created with Item:Person 2, this relation will be automatically populated for Person 2. If I decide to remove that relation on Person 2, it is automatically removed from Person 1. Do I have that right?

Hello

In short when you create a new item in item form
the auto-relation field will show
- a list of field filters

you select some values in the filters and save the new item AA
all items matching the filters will be related to the new item AA

Extending your example:
So if new item AA is related to item AB, and if I view or edit item AB, the relation to AA will already be established and displaying? Wanting to make sure I understand before committing to a purchase. :)

Reverse relations work well when two items aren't similar, but I need  an automatic two-way relation between like-items. Example use cases:
  • Kinship
  • Related or similar products
  • Similar locations
If there's a clever way of using relations with reverse relations in tandem, I've not discovered it yet.
