Setting Image Source to Field instead of Extract from Main Text

I would like to use the Joomla Field for the intro image as the source of the image displayed in the item list on the category view. But when I try to edit the category parameters for the image source I can only select Extract from main text. How can I change this?

do you want to use the Joomla article intro / full images there ?

Go to flexicontent fields manager
- Create a new "image-gallery" field
- Select which types will use the field, e.g. select all types
- As "image source" type select "Intro / full" images
and save

and then you can select it there
