you mean that e.g. with firefox

if you try to download a file and an file with same name already exists in your local folders then the downloaded file it is not auto-renamed ?

are you testing on windows, linux, mac ?

On Linux (Fedora 27), tried both Chrome and Firefox, same results. Page refresh and nothing happens. No prompt, no downloads.

It's not a big deal now that I know, but it might be for others at some point.

Hello

maybe browser see a file on disk with same size and name or browser knows you already download the exact same file

if you create an empty file in disk with

Code:

touch somefilename

then try to download the file

Also if you try to download the same file 2 times from a different website
then what does it happen ? (please wait for 1st download to finish)
