is it acceptable to create an account for the user that submited the item (if using the account via submit field which contains an email field) ?

i think you missed answering my question

If you fill the form I PM'd you, it will create an account but there's no login in the front end, the form is just to submit and the user only gets item status notifications. The rest is done in the backend by the admins. Do you need back end access?

we did some work for supporting guest submit,
lets make it more complete

For guest submit, it can be really useful when you want user input but don't want/need to manage users.

In the form, what I did not need, I was able to hide with CSS. The biggest problem for now is to submit files and images, there has to be a more simple way. The "My Files" is really well made and useful in the back end but it's a bit too much for a simple guest submit.
