Setup notification system

Hello.

I'm the owner of a larger online rock and metal magazine and are moving our system from joomla 2.x to 3.x
We use K2 with 2 custom developed plugins, which sends mail to one of our reviewers when a review is ready to be corrected and one when the reviewer has corrected the review and is ready for publishing.

When a review is published on our site, it sends an email to the collaborator who fits the review.

After updating to joomla 3.x, our 2 custom plugins do not work anymore.
our developer does not work anymore, so we need to find another solution.
Therefore I have looked at Flexicontent which has a built-in notification system.

The problem is just I can not fully figure out how to set it up so it will work for our purpose.

I hope there is someone who can help me with an explanation and possibly a guide how to do it.

reviewers should receive mail with link to backend and collaborator link to the article on the frontend.
Of course, collaborator do not have the opportunity to change or create content on our website.

you speak of the automatic notifications of

- when a new item is created
- when a new item is editted

these have configurable receivers
- you can configure them either at TYPE configuration (or per category if you have different receivers according to item's category)

but besides the automatic notifcations, there is a system plugin that can display a button in item form:
"Send collaboration email" , maybe this is better suited for your needs ?

please check your PM box in this forum

download install the plugin via Joomla installer
enable it
then go to item form and you should see a new button "More" / "Send to reviewers"
