So, it's impossible to create new user group with this privilege?

Adding an ACL rule 'edit creator/owner' is straight forward and rather easy task
because we already have the "edit creation date" ACL rule , which shows where needed changes should go ...

but it will be a 99% not-used ACL rule

Hello

some sites may have 100 or 1000 usergroups
so we would like to avoid adding more ACL rules

as the amount of each ACL rule is multiplied by the number of usergoups

The good thing is that J3.7.3 no longer saves empty rules (empty are the rules that are set to inherit) , also there were other ACL speed improvements in J3.7.0

I will check , if it has no implication with item form will add

I found that also in not super admin group we can't assign any user during creating new item:

So, only super users can do it.

I'm sure, if we have hundreds ACL rules, one more rule not kill site.

This is last thing, that my clients need for estate project.

Thanks.

Hello

I am adding it
, since:

J3.7.3 no longer saves empty rules (empty are the rules that are set to inherit) , also there were other ACL speed improvements in J3.7.0

But there is this question:

My client - is company boss. He is Administrator. He don't need access to settings, modules, plugins.
But he need access to users, categories and content.

why would it be too bad to make your client a super admin ?
the admin user does not need access to them , yes,
but it will be too harmful to make the admin user a super admin ?

This is one of examples.
Hierarchy can be more complex.
Boss (Super Admin)
|
Administrator with ability to change and assign authors
||
Manager with ability to change and assign authors
|||
Agent (Author)
