Hello,

What I find really cool with fieldtype 'weblink' in FLEXIcontent, is that you can see how many hits you had.

But is it possible to add such a weblink field outside of an article? For instance, somewhere in my homepage , and how?

Mmmh... I'm not sure it is possible, but if it is, it would be great!!

Good night.

Hello

you can copy paste the URL anywhere and give it to it any title that you need

Hello,

I see. You mean a URL such as .../component/flexicontent/weblink/28/112/1

But this is the one from an article (to be more precise article #112, field #28, link #1).
What if I want to create a new weblink without copying the one of an existing article?

Do I have to create a fictive (unpublished) article for that purpose?
Or is there a better (cleaner) way to do it?

Good night.

Hello

these links are
- values of the weblink field for a specific (content) item

Do I have to create a fictive (unpublished) article for that purpose?
Or is there a better (cleaner) way to do it?

yes and also
if the item or its is category unpubished
if the item or its category have access level not given to current user

then you will not be able to use the weblink ...

Thanks.
I was afraid of such an answer

Since the fictive unpublished article is helpless, I think I know what I'll do.
I'll create a new weblink field and add it to my article type. I will (of course) not display this field on the article pages. And I will populate this field for one article only. So I will be able to use the weblink URL on my homepage. And I will be able to check the number of hits either in the database record, or in the backend of this very article.

Correct?

Hello

yes, you can do like this

also you could create a new item type
and add items for this purpose

note that in backend items manager
- you can show specific Fields (e.g. this weblink) when you filter by specific item type

you can configure these extra columns in the configuration of every type
