[SOLVED] Setting parameters for load module

Hi

I am trying to use Joomla module news feeds in item view.

I have created module instance of News Feeds.
(rss feed url is set while creating module)

Then I created Flexicontent field with load module and selected above module instance.
The field is added to display template (item view) and it works fine. (with hard-coded url while creating news feeds module instance )

I want to show rss feed specific to item being shown.

So as per documentation I put following in 'customize module parameters per item' in the field for loading module.
myrss!!!rssurl%%
(as per news feeds xml the field name is rssurl.)
In the item I can see the input box Myrss and I added the rss url.

But the input value is not getting set.
(as module returns error rss url not specified )

So the questions :
= the approach is correct?
= if I have to change php code in news feeds module to set $rssurl how do I get the values from Flexicontent?

Is it possible to share value of another field present in this item named RSSFeed with the news feeds module?

Million thanks in advance...

Hello

this feature allows you to write the parameter values directly, the values must be entered as module expects,
e.g. some "form element" module parameter may save its values as a JSON array

it is not meant to read the module parameters and display them, which would make editing them more easily
(which would be possible for us to implement with extra work)

your question depends on the parameter type that you want to set the value

Thank you. Is there any sample to show how this is done?

Specifically I am trying to make this work for rssurl (files attached for news feeds moduke)

I have created myrss for rssurl in the field doing load module.
Now what should go in myrss in the item edit?

This help will go a long way in enabling me to handle other modules as and when required thus letting me use full potential of Flexicontent.

Million thanks in advance.

The best would be to be able to read the module XML file, load its language file and then display the parameters inside the item form
- that would make it user-friendly

please post a reminder on Monday and i will look at it, to answer you and maybe open an issue for doing the above at a later time
- thus this feature will be more easy to use,

now it is mostly used for "text" parameters
- in your case you need to
1. open the XML file of the module
2. find the parameter and see what value it uses , e.g. 1, 2, 3 , 'a', and use them in the item form (after configuring the fcpagenav FLEXIcontent field)

Thank you.

A gentle reminder as mentioned in your earlier reply.

Yes it will be cool if you can read the xml and handle fields.

As for making it work right now, I have not understood your response. I have already created field by doing what is told in tooltip and I can see field myrss in the item edit form.

How to handle the data beyond that point?
(attachments in my first post in this chain.)

Many thanks
