[SOLVED] dropdown field filtering

hi

i have field department. how can i make a dropdown selective field filtering by department. so it can show only data with selective department.

ohh men..

Go to category settings - Search / filter forms - field filters
You have to define the appearance (e.g. drop down) in field settings. Field has to be assigned to a type.

i have create new field type as select. then enable as filter. and assign to my template. in frontend it only show -All-

can u guide me how to make my filter working.

here filters looks in category view:

in your current view, do items have a value for this field ?

- Also in field configuration you can go to the right most "Filtering" TAB and select a different display for the filter

Now i understand... its working now

select/create the field with dropdown select, then set as filter, in category configuration.. enable and select that filter field in search/filter tab.
