Hello

for e.g. image URL:
http:/websiteimages/general/....png

The request content or the requested view 'images' was not found

-- the above message means that 'images' folder does not exist ! ?
so the 'images' is interpreted as a view

so does the images folder exist and is readable ?

Hello

this is effecting all components

-- you have protected folder: /images/
with a .htaccess file

thus all image/media/etc files inside the folder are inaccessible via URL
-- i have renamed /images/.htaccess to be .htaccess_bak and it is working now

Some useful information (this is also in filemanager description):

1. FLEXIcontent by default protects from direct access to its "secure" folder:
/components/com_flexicontent/uploads/
-- this used by by FILE field, and by IMAGE-GALLERY field (if in DB mode)

2. FLEXIcontent 'media' folder is:
/images/stories/flexicontent/

-- a subfolder per item field is created
.../item_13_field_44/original/
and by default it protected from direct access (via .htaccess) (unless you change the parameter)
the thumbnails will go to:
.../item_13_field_44/
and thumbnails are accessible

NOTE: (in case you need to) you can -move- and rename the above folders

1. if you do rename 'secure' folder (effects image field in DB mode)
/components/com_flexicontent/uploads
- just edit component parameters and change:
/components/com_flexicontent/uploads/
to the new folder

2. if you rename the move the media folder:
/images/stories/flexicontent/
-- again edit and change the media folder parameter in component config
/images/stories/flexicontent/
to the new folder name
-- also edit your image fields to and change thumbnail folder: /images/stories/flexicontent/
to the new path
