I would like to show in the category view the full text of the items or some of the items. I have tried to do this with force full text, but this is not working. How can I accomplish this. I use the template blog for my categories.

Hello

blog template can output the description via parameter, unlike other template that always use a template position

you will have to disable "description" in category parameters and then edit category layout of blog template to drag and drop the field into a position,
