Document Library - Shopping Cart

We have a large document library and need to implement a shopping cart system that will allow users to purchase access to individual documents. Ideally we are looking for a solution that will be flexible enough to support new document additions easily.

Is anyone else doing this right now and if so, what are you using?

Hello

i guess you are asking for different component,

FLEXIcontent uses access level for files, to use a content plugin cart would not be any option, since it would mean too many access levels, 1 access level per file

PS: work has been done in our file manager to
1. support download history,
2. download coupons
3. more access level related control
4. multi-download cart (tree structure) with saved carts, etc (but it is not a shopping cart)
5. utf-8 filenames
6. other work, like language property per file

1. is not enabled in v2.2.0 but it is logged

4. is not included in v2.2.0 free package

someone else can suggest an alternative

George,

I agree with the group issue. Creating 1 group per document makes for a very bloated database.

I may just have to design a script that automatically performs this function each time a user chooses to purchase an individual document instead of doing them all in advance.

Also, I am curious, is there a paid version of Flexicontent? I would very much like to get on board with that.

Thanks!

Hello

there are 3 extensions not included in free package

- a powerful downloads cart multi-download module

- replace item/field everywhere plugin (CSS/JS)

- automatic filtered relation plugin (new field)
that shows field filters in item form
... when a new item is submitted or changed and match the criteria it becomes automatically related (also supports showing totals etc)

and some other i will not mention now

that together with priority support (please note that bug support will always be free) will make commercial a version or provide individual options

there is a lot of thing happening in our file manager, but i don't think it is up to this task yet,

maybe an eshop component is more appropriate ?

or you can (first) try using a joomla plugin that makes articles a sellable product, to see if it is possiible

and we are interested in this, to have more shopping CART support / intergration
