Hi,

I'm having a strange issue with category ordering.

yachtboatbrokerage.com/new/

that's the featured category.
I can manipulate the order by running a query and setting the order in the database.

But, this order does not seem to be respected or displayed in the back end.

those are two pix that show the database values for order for the items in the featured cat and the order showed in the back end , showing items, constrained to the featured category.

They are not the same, could someone please help with how do I order those items in that category from the back end.

The items exist in other categories.

cheers

Hello

you save order with DB query inside your custom code ???

a FLEXIcontent item may belong to multiple categories so the ordering is saved in table:

#__flexicontent_cats_item_relations

with TABLE COLUMNS
catid itemid ordering

Hi,

no, I don't save anything with custom code.

My issue is the ordering in #__flexicontent_cats_item_relations is not being reflected in the backend.

So, if I go to items and select the category featured, the ordering shown there is not the same as the values if I query #__flexicontent_cats_item_relations with a select statement showing all items in category 44 - the featured category.

I can order the featured category by manually setting the order in #__flexicontent_cats_item_relations, but I need my clients to be able to manage this from the backend.

I thought that if I constrained the items to the featured category then they could set the order there, but it is not the case.

Those two grabs show the ordering in the backend and the actual ordering in #__flexicontent_cats_item_relations and they are very different.

cheers
