Category vs. Type

Greetings,

My apologies if this has been discussed before, but I didn't find an existing thread.

I'm a new user of FlexiContent, very excited about its potential, but haven't sorted out in my mind what exactly the difference is between Categories and Types. I would appreciate any insight.

at first you can read tutorial about this (in flecxicontent site)
type => type of content, like recipe, (type is an article + specific field)
catégorie => "folder" with many article(you can mixe article with many type of content)
